We have waited and prayed for this day to come for different reasons but in unison. Though at a time, it was near but the powers that be played god and moved it farther but the God who is God brought it here again. After all, it's the Lord's doing and it is marvellous in our sight. For those that wanted it to just come and go so that every discussion won't be politically themed, they have their wish but they must be reminded that we would keep talking about this day for the next four years and beyond. The intensity, I can't predict. For the active citizens that are happy for the opportunity to carry out their civic responsibility again, the day is here upon us and they are happy too. For the political jobbers who believe the only time they would receive dividends of democracy is the electioneering period, well, they have received their 2 congos of rice and #5,000. That is if there is any politician that paid that much to buy a vote. For the politicians, it is a date with destiny. A day that would make or mar them. For the cabal, it is a day to see if returns on investment would yield as much as they projected and for the pundits, a day to confirm their status. I am sure for whatever reason you prayed for this day, you are glad that this day is finally here. Wherever you belong and for whatever reason you have, it is pertinent that you see beyond selfish interest and begin to look at the possibility of a greater good for this nation. A nation everybody can be proud of, that you may boast of your contribution through civic responsibility. Your driving force should be a desire to see a nation that is safe with a strong economy where the welfare of the people is paramount to the government of the day. Good people of this great nation, we have lost too many things to this electioneering, let us minimise our loss and repair our failed relationships. We must abhor violence and anything that would negatively impact our already fragile system. Since we all know that posterity would judge us on our actions, we must be resolute and committed to the true values of humanity and nation building. I know you have made a choice on who to vote for based on your beliefs and aspirations for our country, so stick to your values and preach the gospel of #VoteNotFight. As I leave you to make final preparations for the D-day, I beseech you to say a prayer for our dear nation and remember, prayer without work (action) would be to no avail.
