We have screamed, we have cried. We have yelled and we have wailed but it seems we are doing it wrong. We have done all these collectively and many more individually. All along It seems the path we are on is not the narrow path that leads to joy and eternal peace we read about in the scriptures and as a people we cannot continue to over look the peace that seems to be eluding us. Just weeks back, I asked that the witch hunt of Saraki be continued all in a bid to ensure that our country is healed of the infestation of corruption which has eaten deep into her fabrics and to make the matter worse, the news of the arrest of our beautiful former minister of petroleum was all in the news around the world. It was a good news for me at that time as I was glad it would not be a part of the witch hunt script and there won't be a poorly written grammar on the banners of protesters. The joy didn't take long to die as I checked around the Web to confirm why our Dame was arrested. I was shell shocked, not because the money was too much but because I couldn't imagine that one person could siphon that huge some of money. I guess I am still saying the money was too much. It is heartbreaking and has the potential to kill the strongest of man that at a time when Nigeria is not seeing the best of her periods, that just one soul would stash away that huge amount of money away for herself and immediate family thereby giving other economies of the world strength over ours. It is pure evil. At this time that governors can't pay salaries, when startups are begging for angel investors to fly into their domain and the naira; one of the symbols of our sovereignty is not competing well at the world money market, someone was gallivanting in 13 billion shades of wickedness. However, she doesn't bother me that much as I know justice will be served sooner or later. Just like I always do when there is a news that concerns all, I hit the news stands, Okada parks and beer parlours to get their views. I was taken aback with their unusual response. They asked, unanimously, for a firing squad even if the money won't be recovered. You know as usual, dissident Twitter intellectuals had different opinions. One felt 1 Billion naira is not enough money if you have a family and the other believed we are all sinners and that only the Saints should come forth to rant about a woman that has not only stolen our future but ensured that the generations after us suffer for it. It is in the spirit of the above that I ask every one to pull off our national colour of lamenting about "national horror" for two days and move on the third day like it never happened. Let us wear a new jersey that will help us see things to the end. As soon as the UK is done with our former petroleum minister, I hope security and relevant agencies in our country will pounce on her and make her pay dearly.
