NB: Before you begin to think this is one of the many schemes to Witch hunt Saraki, you must know he is one man I admired as a governor. I take it with a pinch of salt when people say "in saner climes, things would happen differently" because if you know this clime is not sane why remind us? Nonetheless, this is clime is where we have found ourselves and we can't exonerate ourselves until we have built it into the clime we wish it becomes. Since May 29th when this government was inaugurated, we have gone through a lot as we are now used to so many mantras where I belong to everybody and I belong to nobody is the reference point when the president takes any action that defies the prediction of people in the know and those that pretend to have insiders' information. However, the transition of those who question the government from children of anger to wailing wailers must be adjudged legendary. It is without dispute, the most used in this dispensation so far as we now have one thing or the other to wail about every other day. Need I say we really not ashamed being wailers who directly or indirectly want the best for our dear nation? Just like wailing wailers, it is more obvious than before that "witch hunt" is now a part of our everyday vocabulary. This addition which is not new to us has taken another dimension and has been popularised by the travails of the transparent chairman of the 8th national assembly. These trials that bother on corruption is viewed important by Nigerians whose allegiance is to the country and not any party formation. It has been called unimportant by some others who have party leanings and actually think it is as a result of his going against his party. Be that as it may, it is preponderant that we remind ourselves that a certain General Buhari was sold to Nigerians on the cards of his anti-corruption stand and self discipline. If that general must be respected, his stance on corruption must not change. As the governor of Kwara State, I love the development Saraki brought to the state. When I learnt of Shongai farm, I was amazed though all efforts to visit was futile even when my colleagues visited on an excursion, I was unavailable. Still, I praised Saraki for his great job in Kwara State. While I was praising him, many others around me were always faulting him for one thing or the other but I couldn't fathom why because I assumed it was due to their differences in party affiliations. In 2014, without trouble, I visited Kwara State University and I was amazed. The arrangement coupled with the landscape of the campus and hostels made me ask if the school was truly government owned. Without thinking twice, I added another feather to the cap of Bukola Saraki. A perplexed Saraki at the CCT No matter the development you bring to a state, if you have any case to answer, go and answer it. Senator Bukola Saraki has widely been accused of killing the hopes of many families through his involvement in the bankruptcy of Société General Bank of Nigeria but the question is; has any competent court pronounced him guilty on that? If not, we can't nail him on that. In the same vein the case of falsification of assets is still on going and until proven guilty, Saraki is still innocent. The body language of Saraki has nailed him in the court of public opinion as he is yet to provide answers to the questions raised. Why did he seek an injunction against the tribunal? Why deny what happened at the Eid ground contrary to police report and the video evidence we have? He might choose to ignore these questions because even if he provides the right answers, wailing wailers will still find him culpable. As the witch hunt of Saraki continues, let us remind the people that faulted the angry youth that they are the same set of people who derided Nigerians when the Egyptians rose against their government. They said the youth in Nigeria will never rise to that level. Kwarans showed us the way and we doubted it. This band of know-it-all are alive when Amaechi insulted our sensibility and said they steal because the youth don't stone them, yet they said we should have respected the office of the Senate president. Respect is reciprocal. If the office of the SP will be respected, the occupant must first begin to respect the office and the great people of this nation. In saner climes, he would have resigned but I know you remember what I said about saner climes. Since this clime is not anywhere near sane, let Saraki step aside until proven innocent. As we continue to give our all to restructure our country, I hope people without immunity will get witch hunted as soon as possible while we prepare the case against those with immunity in readiness for when they will be without immunity.
