The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) with support of the United Nations Development Programmes (UNDP) have trained Osun State indigenes drawn from the 3 Senatorial Districts of the State on engaging with budget processes.

The project was facilitated by the Centre for Youth Initiative on Self Education (CEYISED), the Capacity Building engagement was conducted in the three senatorial district of Osun State with Osun Central conducted on the 5th and 6th July, 2017 at Osogbo, Osun West on the 10th and 11th July, 2017 at Ode-Omu, and the Osun East at Ile-Ife presently ongoing on the 12th and will end 13th July, 2017. The engagement had over 150 participants in attendance in all. Participants included youth group leaders, market women leaders, traditional rulers, State of Osun Budget Officers, public servants amongst others.

In his Opening Remarks, the House Committee Chairman on Public Accounts, Osun State House of Assembly, Honourable. Rasheed Olalekan Afolabi, fca, enjoined participants to make the best use of the nitty gritty of the workshop for positive use to the benefit of the citizens of the State.

Mr.Baba Alaro Shaib, Chief Superintendent Education of the Osun State who led the  ICPC delegate to  the training took time to explain the mandate, mission and basic information about the Commission to the participants whilst.

Some participants encouraged the establishment of Budget Engagement Clubs across all Local Government Areas of the State as a way of ensuring that lessons learnt from the workshop is utilized to the level of bringing the needs of Osun  indigenes to them, especially at the grassroots.
